Bobbie Jean Carter, Nick and Aaron Carter‘s sister, has died. She was 41.
Bobbie Jean’s mother, Jane Carter, confirmed the news of her death to TMZ.
“I am in shock from learning of the sudden death of my daughter, Bobbie Jean; and I will need time to process the terrible reality of this happening for the third time. When I am able to think clearly, I’ll release a fuller statement; but until then I would request to be left to grieve in private,” Jane told the outlet.
Jane continued, “[H]owever deeply a parent feels the loss of a child, the suffering of a young child at the loss of a parent must be much greater. So, I would ask the sympathetic to say a prayer for my precious eight year old granddaughter Bella, who previously lost her father and is now also left without her mother.”
Bobbie Jean’s cause of death was not revealed. The tragedy comes a little over a year after Aaron was found dead in his home at the age of 34. Aaron’s cause of death was revealed to be drowning in his bathtub after inhalation of difluoroethane. This flammable gas is often used as the propellant in cans of compressed air and ingesting alprazolam, a generic form of Xanax.
The Carter family also suffered the loss of sister Leslie back in 2012.
Bobbie Jean was a featured family member in E!’s reality series House of Carters. Over the years, Bobbie Jean opened up about her addiction problems, documenting her struggles on the show and running into legal trouble for theft earlier this year. Although Bobbie Jean was not in the spotlight like brothers Nick and Aaron, she worked alongside her siblings, being credited as a stylist for Aaron back in the early 2000s.
