EXCLUSIVE: FilmNation Entertainment has hired television producer Robin Schwartz as President of Television.
Schwartz will be based in Los Angeles and report to FilmNation CEO Glen Basner.
She will oversee all aspects of development and production for the independent studio’s growing television slate and lead the division as the company accelerates its ambitions in the TV space.
FilmNation is currently in production in Ireland on Small Town, Big Story created by Chris O’Dowd starring Paddy Considine and Christina Hendricks which will be distributed by SKY in the UK. FilmNation’s first foray into television, I Know This Much Is True for HBO, garnered Mark Ruffalo an Emmy Award for his lead role.
Most recently, Schwartz had a producing deal with Tomorrow Studios under her Working Bird banner. Before that she headed up the television divisions of Big Beach, Regency, and OWN: the Oprah Winfrey Network. She began her career at NBC building the network’s Must See TV slate.

Schwartz executive produced the PGA-nominated What the Constitution Means to Me, the Marielle Heller-directed special of Heidi Schreck’s Pulitzer Prize finalist hit Broadway play for Amazon. She has also served as EP for Apple’s Central Park, the critically acclaimed Elizabeth Olsen starrer Sorry for Your Loss for Facebook Watch, as well as Tanya Saracho’s SXSW and GLAAD award-winning series Vida for Starz.
FilmNation has several television projects lined up and is developing projects at networks including Amazon, Hulu, Peacock, and Sky. Upcoming film productions include Sean Baker’s romantic dramedy Anora starring Mikey Madison and Academy Award winner Edward Berger’s Vatican-set thriller Conclave starring Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci, John Lithgow, and Isabella Rossellini.
