Steven Yeun And Christina Oh Form New Partnership Celadon Pictures

EXCLUSIVE: Academy Award nominees Steven Yeun and Christina Oh partner to create Celadon Pictures.

Yeun and Oh first met working together on Bong Joon-Ho’s Okja, which premiered at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival. The two teamed up again for the 2021 Academy Award-nominated Minari, which earned them each Oscar nominations for Best Actor and Best Picture, respectively.

With Celadon Pictures, they have already secured deals to develop and produce in both features and television. In addition to focusing on elevated stories in film, Yeun plans to use his recent award-winning experience producing Beef, to further grow a broad TV slate with Oh.

“We are very excited about our partnership, and we look forward to collaborating with new and established voices to create lasting and impactful stories that connect us,” said Yeun and Oh.

For Yeun, the Oscar nominee was last seen starring and serving as Executive Producer on the critically acclaimed limited series Beef for Netflix and A24. The show received 13 Emmy nominations including Best Limited Series and Best Actor for Yeun, as well as Golden Globe nominations in both categories. Also this year, Yeun lent his voice and Executive Produced the documentary Nam June Paik: Moon Is the Oldest TV, which premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival. He returns to Sundance next month for Love Me, starring opposite Kristen Stewart, which will debut in competition.

Later next year will see him re-teaming with Director Bong for Mickey 17 opposite Robert Pattinson. His other notable credits include Minari, for which he was nominated for an Oscar for ‘Best Actor in a Leading Role’; Nope for director Jordan Peele; Director Chang-dong Lee’s Korean-language film Burning; Boots Riley’s critically acclaimed comedy, Sorry To Bother You; and Netflix’s official 2017 Cannes Film Festival entry, Okja for Director Bong Joon Ho.

Oh is an Academy Award-nominated producer who has worked on numerous film and television projects over her career, including Bong Joon Ho’s Okja and Joe Talbot’s feature film debut The Last Black Man in San Francisco. Most recently she produced Minari, written and directed by Lee Isaac Chung, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and went on to receive six Academy Award nominations, where Youn Yuh-jung won Korea’s first-ever Best Supporting Actress Oscar. Oh’s past television experience includes LEGO Masters for Fox and Outer Range and Paper Girls for Amazon Prime.
