Picking up a hitchhiker on the car ride to school would already be exciting enough, but now imagine that hitchhiker happens to be your favourite pop star.
That’s what happens to Jimmy Kimmel’s kids in the video above when Olivia Rodrigo climbs into the back seat to hitch a lift, making small talk before singing along with a couple of their favourite hits including “ballad of a homeschooled girl” and “get him back!”.
It’s not Carpool Karaoke — as Kimmel says at the end, “oh no, we’re gonna get sued” — but now that The Late Late Show is no more it’s the closest we’re gonna get.
